Topics we covered included:
Thanks to Robert Stark for having me. We'll be doing a second interview to be broadcast next week.
- Calfornia—elections, environmental & demographic problems;
- The New Elite;
- The War on Drugs;
- The Tea Party movement—nationwide elections, accusations of racism, and implicit Whiteness over fear of demographic displacement;
- The agenda behind mass immigration & multiculturalism;
- Partisan politics;
- Beinart calls out the ADL;
- The situation in Europe & Thilo Sarrazin in Germany.
Yikes, that Stark guy has an unpleasant voice and manner. Not suitable for radio at all. Dennis, on the other hand, sounds calm and genial.
ReplyDeleteThis is my impression from the first two minutes, anyway. Had to stop for the aforementioned reason.
VERY interesting discussion.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the first comment. YOU should have an internet radio show.
ReplyDeleteStark is harsh, like nails on a blackboard.
ReplyDeleteYou're way calmer than I could ever be. If anyone ever got me on the radio to talk on such topics, I'd be calling down fire from heaven.
Thanks everyone for the comments (and compliments). Question: being much more print-oriented myself - I don't have a TV and rarely listen to the radio - do any of you listen to these sorts of things with any regularity? Are they worthwhile doing? Are there any truly successful (i.e. popular) right-wing internet radio programs?
ReplyDeleteI see that another programmer at Voice of Reason got Kevin MacDonald for an interview; I imagine quite a few people will listen to someone like him.
Dennis, I agree with the above comments. Stark sounds like a nervous square. Robert Lindsay was the same when he was on his show, both you and Lindsay sound decent on the radio, while Stark sounds like a douchebag that never gets laid, and is uncool and has a bad voice. Michael Savage is a right wing Jew who gets millions of listeners on the internet radio circuit.
ReplyDeleteInteresting to hear your voice, Dennis. And you made a good presentation.
ReplyDeleteHaving once been a radio announcer, I must add that the fellow who interviewed you has an extremely irritating vocal pitch and meandering delivery. Someone should also tell him he is either playing his mike too close or he is talking directly into it, rather than the correct technique of positioning it slightly to the side.
Anyway, I agree with the earlier commenters that you would be a fine radio host.
Yes, I concur with the previous commenters. Stark's voice is not made for radio.
ReplyDeleteI'd be interested to know what Stark looks like, to confirm a certain theory of mine.
Dennis' voice comes across firm and strong. Don't take that as an insult Dennis as all theories have their exceptions.
do any of you listen to these sorts of things with any regularity?
I listen to Talkback regularly and it is a very popular form of radio in east coast Oz. I'd listen to more podcasts like this if the subject matter were more like this, so I'll give Voice of Reason a go. Radio Deutsche Welle is a pretty good mainstream source of news if you're interested.
I'd like to know if Yanks have the same expression "He's got a head made for radio"? But, like I said, there are exceptions to any rule.
I concur with the positive statements made above on Dennis performance in the radio show.
ReplyDeleteI encourage Dennis to make further guest appearances as podcasts and web based radio in conjunction with blogging seems to me a fab way to get the message across.
The interview was great, despite the host's voice and meandering lack of professionalism. It's great to hear a frank discussion of events on a broadcast.
ReplyDeleteI myself don't tend to listen to much right-wing radio, as a lot of it is too mainstream (read: apologetic and PC), I did enjoy listening to a few clips of Michael Savage and when Mark Steyn takes over for Rush Limbaugh on Youtube. I feel this is a great direction to consider for right-wing bloggers.
Did anyone else check out the Kevin Macdonald one? It was on the Radio Free Indiana, I believe. That was a great interview too.
Dennis I agree with the comments posted here, you gave a good presentation while Stark is hard to listen to. Have you considered giving talks to small groups? You are well spoken and insightful, this would help to spread the message and dispel the notion that our beliefs are only held by degenerates in white sheets.
ReplyDeletePat, we say "He's got a face made for radio."
I agree with Johnny Dissidence about the
ReplyDeleteKevin MacDonald interview, only in that one KMac sounded like had a cold. Good info, and I could do my pushups while listening (can't do that and read at the same time).
My first reaction to the host's voice was that he was either slightly drunk or had suffered a small stroke. Not good.
ReplyDeleteDennis, you should do some podcasts for AltRight. I'm a fan of Richard Spencer's, but his voice borders on being effeminate and he stutters a little bit, too.
Hey, David Duke is on here too, what do you know.
ReplyDelete"Question: being much more print-oriented myself - I don't have a TV and rarely listen to the radio - do any of you listen to these sorts of things with any regularity? Are they worthwhile doing? Are there any truly successful (i.e. popular) right-wing internet radio programs?"
ReplyDeleteI listen faithfully every Saturday night to James Edwards at The Political Cesspool on Liberty News Radio, with links to listen through his website. I don't know what his audience numbers are, but he bills himself as the South's foremost populist, conservative radio program.
Mr. Edwards has certainly made Paula Zahn and the other fools on CNN's heads explode.
Mr. Edwards is a director of American 3rd Position Party, along with Kevin MacDonald.
I'm probably not telling you anything you didn't already know, Dennis.
TPC has had Steve Sailer, KMac, Jared Taylor, Mel Gibson's dad...
Have you been on yet, Dennis? If so, do you have a link? I'd like to listen.
You presented yourself well, have a good radio presentation and would make a good host. I did, however, have the vauge feeling that you were being interviewed by Bill Murray's character from Caddyshack...
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to hear you present topics of your own choosing in greater depth rather than have the conversation be driven to various and sundry topics by the host in a way that only touches on each briefly and unsystematically. A "Radio Derb" type short, focused program would suit you very well.
I'm of the opinion that radio/audio interviews with some of the major right-wing and WN bloggers would be a great idea.
ReplyDeleteGetting that exposure and adding an extra dimension that isn't just text on a screen would, in my opinion, potentially give access to newer audiences who are sympathetic to the views presented. I also think a lot of these bloggers would have a good and eloquent radio presence, as Mangan has demonstrated.
Dennis, you were articulate and thoughtful. Stark sounded like a snorting dolt, however.

ReplyDeleteThe Political Cesspool hosted by James Edwards in Memphis has attracted some notable guests including Kevin MacDonald, Nick Griffinm, Paul Gottfried, and Hutton Gibson.
I agree with the other posters - you sounded quite reasonable and made a good case for our views - the perfect antidote to all those liberal mouthpieces who would paint us as raving, paranoid losers. I don't think that you were well served by the forum however. The interviewer was not articulate, and did not seem focused. Also, appearing in the same venue in which David Duke is featured is not, I believe, a winning strategy. Duke is a charlatan and an idiot. Our cause needs fewer people like him speaking up for it, and more people like you, Steve Sailer, and Richard Spencer.
